As I was polishing my headlights yesterday, the lawn crew foreman walked up to me and said wiping them with brake fluid would do the same thing. Anyone else heard of this? I always thought brake fluid & some plastics didn't play together well.

Brake fluid and most things don't play well together. I think this ranks in the "Just because it's a thing you CAN do, doesn't mean it's a thing you SHOULD do" category. There was recently another thread where people covered all the other random things people rub on their headlights.

Are the headlamp lenses polycarbonate?

PSA:
Polycarbonates are not chemically
resistant to brake fluid.

Lawn crew foreman. There you go right there.

If it were me, I'd have said: "Yeah, I heard it makes for a good sun screen for infants, and also doubles as an emergency mouthwash. Don't you have some lawn crew to go foreman over??"

You should of said; yes, I knew that, just all out. I usually use it on my paint, does wonders for protection. You should try it!

Stop! My brain hurts! LOL!

Oh, brake fluid...who knew the possibilities were endless?

Blinker fluid works just as well! I had a leak in my left turn housing and the cover was crystal clear underneath it. I thought "hey, i wonder if...".

I thought we were supposed to use toothpaste?

You cant really nock something unless you try it first. No I havent tried brake fluid on head lights , so I dont know.
