Hi everyone, I bought a brand new Ford f150 2017.
here is the steps that I'm doing to do:
- wash
- clay bar (mothers)
- deep gloss paint sealant (wolfgang)

My questions is "would it be good to use the Wolfgang finishing glaze before the paint sealant or it may cause paint damage?"

Congrats on the new fiddy, that was one of the first things I did when I got my 2013, decon, Clay and WG finish polish.

I was not sure because I read a topic saying "don't do anything on a new paint in the next 30 days" after a paint shop job. I tought or was the samething for a new car

New vehicle paint is fully cured when it leaves the factory. The 30 days would apply to a fresh repaint as you noted above.

It would not apply to your new F-150.

Good question and like others have said, "no".

The Wolfgang Finishing Glaze is NOT a glaze. It goes back to there are no Wax Police and companies can use any word they like on the label to describe their products and they do. There is also no universal definition for the word glaze. The closest thing would be the definition I used in my how-to book for not just glazes but also compounds and polishes.


The Wolfgang Finishing Glaze is actually a fine cut polish and "yes" there's a difference between a glaze and a polish.


In my experience and my opinion, the BEST thing you could do for the paint on your new truck is exactly like you described and "yes" use the fine cut polish. It will remove minor blemishes and perfect the paint finish. The apply the Wolfgang Deep Gloss Paint Sealant 3.0

Also, if this brand new truck were mine, if you're going to go through an in-depth process, if it were me I would add an iron remover to the process. While a brand new car shouldn't need an iron remover most people are surprised to see their vehicle's paint IS contaminated but the only way you would ever know is if you tested or used an iron remover.
