Brinkmann Swirl Finder Light

You want to hold it about a foot and half off the surface and hold it in a way that the light is bouncing back towards your eyes with the goal being able to look down on the light pattern on the surface.

It doesn't work well if you're outside and it's sunny or light out, it's better to be under cover out of lots of ambient light, like in your garage.

It's also going to be harder to see swirls on white, silver and beige in the same way it's hard to see swirls on these colors using natural sun. It's not that the light doesn't work, it's just with light colors you have to look closer to see the surface defects.

Better than 2x 500w spot light? or a 48 LED working light?

Xenon bulbs do seem to work better than most other options and in order to compare other options they need to be hand held and not require a cord to plug them into the was or you're not comparing apples to apples.

One of the benefits to the Brinkman Swirl Finder Light is that it's a lightweight hand-held, portable affordable light.

Feel free to try all the other options though...

:)

Brinkman is a GREAT light...

The only light I prefer over it is the Fenix 240 lumen LED light and the reason why I prefer it is that it also makes holograms visible BUT, the price of entry is far greater than the Brinkman!

That light has come a long way. I see users around the world using it.

I introduced it to the world back in March 2005.
I didn't come up with the idea. I just told everybody about it.

NXT CLASS 2005

I use it EVERYDAY! They are tough - My first dual xenon -RIP

And just to note, I always give Joe credit for showing me this light. I whole heartedly believe in giving due credit where credit is due and I always appreciate the same in return.

Like I always post to forums and have been teaching in classes, always be open to new information, don't ever wall yourself up because you might miss something very cool.

Again, thanks Joe!

Not that Mike needs backing up, but after he mentioned and credited Superior Shine in the Detailing 101 class, I had to look up Joe on the forum.

Looking forward to reading your input/posts Superior Shine!

just picked mine up... thanks for the advice! Question though, usually upon purchase of a new rechargeable device, manual always says to charge up before first use. The BSFL did not state anything regarding 1st charge. Does it need to be charged before first use or can I use it right off the bat till it dies, and then charge? Am just worried about permanently damaging the battery.

Alway's fully charge a battery before using.

What is the output Voltage and Amperage of the Wall Adapter that comes with the BSFL ?
