Hey guys I've been thinking about having some brochures made. I've been leaving business cards here and there but that doesn't explain anything about my service. I've been mostly leaving cards at businesses that are run by friends so I was thinking I could leave a couple of brochures with my friends and they wouldn't disappear. Has anyone on here had any brochures made? I'm planning on going through vistaprint because they always have great deals but I just wanted to get some input on how to set them up. I know what they need to say but looking at some that have been already made would give me a better idea of how to set them up. It would also help with not missing anything. Thanks in advance everyone.

Brochures typically have a very low return rate. You'd be better off creating a constantly up to date brochure: a website.

For 100 at vistaprint It's like $30 or something like that, I remember it being pretty reasonable. I was thinking of doing this also.

I've never done a detailing brochure but have done plenty for other investment products and they have never provided a good return. If you don't have a website I'd spend the money there then google ads etc.

Half of one percent was the average on brochures generating interest. If those numbers work for you go for it but like others have suggested they don't work well. Mind you that was interest you still had to close the sale.

I've had a great results using brochures, I usually hand out a brochure along with my business card. Brochure tells the person what my business has to offer and lets my business card do it's part later on. As to how I set up the brochure, make sure it is attractive to the point and full of info. (A nice logo really helps) Start with who you are and what you do. Educate the person, (why do they need your service) then show what you have to offer. I always include a service menu, detailed service description, price chart, approximate time per service and some before and after shots. Vista print is a great tool, the design process is as easy as it gets all you need is creativity. I hope this helps I'll try to find an old brochure and post some pics later on. I stopped using brochures once the business started picking up. In my opinion momentum is key when it comes to business and brochures definitely helped me gain that momentum, if you take advantage of it you'll be on your way to success. The thing is how to build up that momentum. Advertise everywhere possible, provide only the best of your service no matter how big or small the job is and you'll be good.

Creating a website is a lot of work and you need good graphic design and page layout skills. If you want your website to look professionnal and you have no experience making web sites, hire someone. Otherwise your website will end up being really amateur and will make people go elsewhere for their business.

I would skip the brochures as well, very expensive and very low return rate.
