So I play baseball in a mens sunday league, I usually dont ever take my car the one day I do I get my windshield cracked. I had parked pretty far from the baseball field to avoid any foul balls. I was playing center field when I heard an alarm go off I was not sure if it was. I saw some kids running away. After the inning ended I went to check on my car I didnt see any damage. After another inning my girlfriend decided to sit in my car bcause it was too cold outside. Thats when she notice the windshield was cracked I its not noticeable from the outside because the windshield has tint on it thats why I fail to notice it when I checked on the car.

When I told her I knew who broke the window she stop me from confronting the kids parents because they belong to the hot dog lady at the park. She sells hot dogs and snack at the park. My gf being a school teacher has a big heart towards kids and told me she would pay for the windshield because she felt bad for the lady because people usually selling things at the park are trying to make ends meat. I told her I was not gonna let her paid for the windshield if she didnt break it. Thats when it hit me our league has insurance incase a vehicle gets damage from an ongoing game. I reported the damage to the umpire and he took a report. I told him it was damage from a foul ball from the game. I didnt mentioned the kids otherwise it wouldnt of been covered. Even though the league is going ro fi,

I remember having to pay for damages to other people's
property when I was a kid and it was my fault.

I don't agree with not telling the truth. It wasn't a foul ball but rather the kids according to your post. I totally understand about additional expenses we all incurr all the time. Guess I prefer to always tell the truth.

Windshields are inexpensive in the grand scheme of things. MOst of us should replace our windshileds more frequently than we do because of the abuse they are subjected too. A couple months down the road you won't even remember it. Now the league and it's insurance will absorb the cost. JMO

Yes I agree with you on not telling the truth. Its not really an insurance, every season every player pays $7 as part there league fee that the league uses for these events. Its the first time in 5 seasons that anyone on our team has used it. 14players x $7=98. Just spoke the president of the league he told me they will cover 60% of the cost
