What do you professional detailers use when washing a vehicle?
 
Microfiber mitt on 90% of cars
Wool Merino mitt on 10%

Is there a certain way to use the mit? in cicles, up and down, ??
 
I use a mitt and at times a nice, soft, plush MF towel.
I find it easier to clean off any dirt off the towel than the mitt, downside is it doesn't hold as much soap as the mitt.
Whatever you use make sure it's a well made type fabric. More preference than anything IMO

That's where all your scratches wil come from. If something is on the paint and it does not come off with a couple passes of a mitt then you need to go to a next step like a clay bar to remove whatever isn't coming off.

The saying goes use the least aggressive method to get the job done.

So when washing does remove something then you would need to take the next step like a mild clay bar.

i use a sheepskin mitt and/or grout sponge...
 
I use all three. Depending on vehicle, all three have their place.
 
The Microfiber Madness IncrediSponge is my new favorite. It is by far the best for rinseless!
 
I use a MF pad and/or a boars hair brush. I use the brush with a foam gun on a really dirty car. I use the pad with optimum no rinse wash when the car is not too dirty.
 
I kept thinking the MF was something other than micro fiber.
