Why can't I Find some buckets that fit my grit guards locally?

Does it really need to be that hard :(

I picked one up at Home Depot for less then $3.00.

Are they actually red Meghan? Cause the orange ones didn't work...

What's going on with the size? Are they larger in diameter at the bottom of the bucket than the grit guard, or smaller? My Wal-Mart buckets are smaller, so the grit guards actually stop about 3/4 of the way down the bucket, leaving a large gap below the grit guard. I've come to the conclusion that this just means extra space between my sponge and grit.

Lowes has buckets that the GG will fit. On the other hand they also have buckets that it wont fit. You just have to look around the store a bit. Take your GG with you.

Mark,

You must be using those metric buckets!

Weird,, I have orange from HD and you just press them down and they "lock". Then you can even turn them upside down and the guard doesn't fall out.

Did they change there size? If so I am willing to sell mine for $150 each. :xyxthumbs:

Or a Canadian bucket. I blame the Canadians!

I'm looking for clear buckets locally, anyone seen clear ones that fit grit guards?

I have 5 or 6 of the 5 gallon orange "Homer" buckets from Home Depot, the Grit Guards fit loosely inside and don't "lock in" like Corey's do (I wish they did though... My red Grit Guard wants to float sometimes). Also a white bucket of unknown origin also fits GG's the same, come to think of it, I've never seen a 5 gallon bucket that does not fit a GG loosely inside. Just lucky I guess :dunno:

I'm in Edmonds, only a few minutes north of you, we should be able to find you some GG fitting buckets, if the size has been changed I'll give you one of mine.

Same here. I like the way it fits in the HD bucket better than in my pad washer bucket.

Lowes grey buckets work for me also, but I did bring the GG with me. A few buckets didn't work but I did find a bunch.

Most of my buckets are old buckets which held dry wall mud in them. I clean them out really well and they do fine.

Why is everyone blaming the bucket? What did the bucket do to you? Maybe the grit guard is the wrong size.
