I looking for a paint coating that will last at least 1 year and work well in a very high rainfall environment, 250+ inches a year, and that is easy to apply and less than $100. Am I asking for to much? I've been reading good things about the McKee's. Anything better than the McKee's that is easy to apply, never done a coating before, and won't break the bank?

McKee's would be a option and really easy to apply and remove.

Uber is a little bit over a hundred and last a bit longer.

Gloss coat would be my first recommendation. PBL black label would be another.

Gloss coat is nice, bit it seems to waterspot bad
Still have a few coatings laying around to see if they have same issue
Gtechniq CSL, uber and two cencored brands..

I personally love love love the Duragloss option. $49 ish dollars and very easy to apply. Not sure about the 1 year but it lasts pretty well for me.

I personally like quartz based coatings. Cquartz uk would be my recommendation. It's a bit trickier to apply but the results are worth it. 2nd option is gloss-coat. Extremely easy application. I haven't had issues with waterspotting but then again in Socal I barely rain at at all.

If there's a better option than DG enviro shield, be my guest. My wife's car was done in March 2014 and still beads well and looks great.

For cost and the ease of application along with a minimum year longevity I would really consider Essence with reload as a topping and maintenance once or twice after the 1st application.

Last winter I did a side by side application on my brothers hood doing a final polish and wipe down an applied WG Uber and on the other side I did a final polish with Essence topped with reload and the only difference he noted was the Essence/Reload side had tighter beading. This was on a 2015.5 dark grey metallic Escalade.

Duragloss Enviroshield provides the most bang for the buck in the category. $49 nets you 4 ounces, more than enough to do 4 cars or your car 4 times. Paint, glass, trim, and wheels can all be coated with about 1 ounce or less.

This is what I've decided on. Since I'm almost exclusively using DG sealants, it seems a natural choice for me.

How does the DG Enviroshield perform regarding water spots and self cleaning???

I only have experience with DP (now McKee's) coating. I highly recommend it. I think that it meets all of the requirements that you listed. DP is excellent by itself, but I prefer to top it with Sonax Polymer Net Shield for even better beading, sheeting, and durability (imo).

I have Gloss-Coat and Uber to try soon, and they are said to be very easy to apply. The reviews say that the Carpro coatings are a little more difficult to apply, and I personally would recommend something easier for a first coating application.

Mckee's 37 coating is as simple as possible. Should last about two years. And it is very inexpensive.

I don't know how I overlooked the DG Enviroshield! I was going to pull the trigger on the McKees 37 which coincidentally costs the same ($50) if you factor in the recommended $20 Prep Polish. And you get 16 oz of the prep polish vs 4 oz of the DG Surface Prep.

Both apply the same way. Both are rated up to 2 years.

Has anyone found a good review on Sonus? I searched quite a bit after it came out and didn't find much feedback.

Here's one of the most budget-friendly,
cost-conscience Coatings that AGO has:

Sonus ION Paint Coating ...8oz @$21.97

Bob

I would hesitate to call this a coating. Its really a sealant with exceptional (claimed) durability. I have a bottle of it, never got to use it, but I do not doubt the quality of any product manufactured by Premium Finish Care (which Sonus is one of their brands).

Then:
Does someone at Premium Finish Care not allow
their Sonus ION product to be called a Sealant?
