ok so what do i need to get started in this business? I have a 2005 chevy truck, I have a generator, And i have a gas pressure washer. I know i need a tanks and a buffer and some chemicals. I have around $500 to spend but can go up to around $1000. Im 19 and work at verizon wireless full time and make decent money there ($12 an hour) So I'm looking to invest some of that into this business. I hate working for someone else and want to own my own business and have tried this before when i was around 16 and it failed all we really did was make a website and pass out flyers and got 2 jobs thats it, one of which was a shady used car dealer.
So when i get a tank and a hose how do i get the pressure washer to feed water out of the tank. Do i need it to have a certain amount of power for it to be able to pull the water from the tank?

I have basic chemicals and like i said a truck generator a cheap buffer and a gas powerwarsher.

I really would like to invest a decent amount of money if i could have this be successful also i live in bel air MD so there are a coupe of big detailers around please help thanks

You may also want to invest in Rennie Doyle's book "How to start a home based Car Detailing Business"......Good info....good luck!

i have most of these products. i am more conceded on getting the pressure washer and tank setup correct. You can see some of my work here : direct2youdetail.com

Just FYI, there is an Add Hyperlink function available in the menu when you post

It will facilitate clicks in your website and count as a back link for SEO

I am not familiar with the demographics of your market, so I shouldn't comment on pricing, but....

How are you making a profit only charging $30 for "Compounding"?

Some pressure washers will gravity feed as long as the tank is a few feet higher than the inlet for the PW

Some PW will pull from a standing body of water

Some PW will require a pump from the tank to the PW to function properly

For best information, I would contact the Manufacturer of the PW

IMHO you need te evaluate your market all your prices seem very low.

Kyle, all links posted on AG are no follow links, which means it won't help for SEO at all, just referral traffic from here

If you have the basic products, that's all you need to start your business.

You don't need to spend $500, $1000, or $1500 on getting the "best" or "professional" products on the market.

That doesn't make you a business.

Getting people to give you their money (aka customers) is what makes you a business.

Not sure what that means, as I am not totally tuned in on SEO

Is that something that you do from your end, or that AGO does?

I know one Detailer who posts his Show & Shines with the sole purpose of generating back links for SEO

I did just find out that you must have over 30 Facebook likes before you will show up in a Google search

I'm not an seo expert by ANY means (so don't quote me exactly), but no follow links don't really help your website or page you're linking to, as the only people that can click it are the people viewing it. Basically it doesn't boost page rank or help your website rank higher, but creates another link for people to see.

This is on AGs part and we can't do anything about it. Getting genuine do follow links are hard nowadays, bc the websites don't want to spread their "link juice" to random websites. Since our websites are generally low low page rank, AG would be sacrificing their page rank by giving up do follow links, and won't pop up as easy on google when looking up detailing.

I'm not 100% sure, but show and shines only help if customers look up detailing in their area and it may pop up as AG is a high page ranked detailing forum. It doesn't boost your website.

For more info look up do follow links and no follow links

Backlinks are good for SEO. Only when they're from well trusted and authoritative sites.

To keep things super simple and short:

[+] If you can get a backlink without much work (i.e posting it on a forum) then it's either a) not a good site to get a backlink from or b) you won't get much "link juice" to your site.

So, let's say you write a guest blog post on Forbes.com.. That'd be great because it's a well trusted site and you can't simply submit a guest post whenever you want to get a backlink.

Simple things you should stay away from for backlinks:
- Paying for backlinks
- Posting website URL in comments
- Submitting in low quality sites
- Exchanging backlinks (one for you and one for me)
- Submitting in free directories of low quality sites

Whoever is using forums for backlinks is doing it pretty wrong.:nomore:

Well then you should definitely include it in a post on a Detailing Forum and tell people to go there

someone asked to see my work. Which there are pictures on the website. Thats why it was posted.
