Hey guys I'm goin to my friends at luch today to help him detail his car not as a job or anything ... anyway he wanted us to restore his headlights i have done this with a rotary before and a drill but not the 7424 xp all i have are white lake country smart pads and orange ones...also i have m205 and 105 ... is it possibe after wet sanding the headlights to buff them with a combo above or by hand ... i know its not the best way but need to make it happen on short notice

That will work. On a lot of headlights the sanding is not even necessary.

5" pads are probably too large for headlight work. I have good luck using 3" microfiber pads and 105. If you need something quickly, you can get a 3M or similar kit at a local auto parts store and use an electric drill.

I know guys but i don't have a 3in pad and i need to do this at 12 could i use orange pad and m105

Sometimes you gotta run what ya brung.

Try the least aggresive approach.

It may be easier to remove the headlamp since you only have 5" pads.

Sure, you can use the PC with 5" or 5.5" Pads.
It can be used to save a little bit of time, versus a hand process.
I'd use the least abrasive polish, and if that isn't getting it, then switch to the heavier duty Polish.

Even if you had the Baby Griots DA, there's still often going to be instances, where the pad will not effectively work all the way to the very edges of a lamp housing. Or for smaller Lamp Housings.

Thus, have some hand applicators on hand for the job as well. A MF Applicator will be a better choice than a foam one.

Do mask off the lights. Even though you might be doing the rest of the vehicle with polishes. This will simplify-ease the clean up process after.

Lastly, the better the product you use to protect the lights after this resto process, the longer they will continue to stay haze free. This is probably where the most durable "coatings" will excel, versus waxes, or sealants.

Probably best to do an IPA mix wipe down as a last step before a protectant is applied, so they are squeaky clean, no oils-etc left behind.
Hope this helps.
