Howdy, got a new car and dealer put some protech extreme finishing and special cleaner on the car. I want to start polishing and detailing my car but am not sure what the effect of polishing on top of these products will be. Anyone have feedback?

Are you in Australia? I've never used this product but after a little research it seems to be a generic "coating" that is sold as part of a paint protection warranty package.

For the most part these sorts of dealership offered coatings and sealants are probably decent products IF/WHEN they are applied correctly.

If you're vehicle does not meet your standard of perfection feel free to polish away any remaining protective treatment that remains on the paint. You will likely void any warranty that was sold as part of the treatment (not that it would have covered anything after you read through all the fine print).

Thanks for your reply Nicholas. The dealer said that the protection will last 2 years but I highly doubt that.
Do I need to strip the previous protection away or do I just follow the standard buffing and polishing procedure? I plan on working with a flex 3401.

•IMO:
-No need to "strip"...
-Using a light-cut/fine polish, or even an ultra-fine polish, should remove any previously applied Dealership protection product.
