Just wondering what you guys are using, product wise, pad selection and buffer type. I have flex rotary and flex and PC orbitals. As far as products I have full line of Menzerna and the pads are LC CCS pads. The paint isn't that bad but it is single stage so I know this is a different animal entirely. I'll be posting pics as soon as possible. Thanks everyone.

I. Say just start as you would base clear. Least aggressive first until you find what works for you.

I personally like any aio for single stage.

I used aio on my 30 year old single stage paint it wasnt in bad shape to start with it turn out very well

I read the article that mike Phillips wrote where he let the meguiars product sit overnight on the paint and went through different steps, this is why I thought it would be different and I thought most of the newer clears are much harder

If the paint is really dried then yes, but you said that your paint is not that bad, so treat as regular clear coat.

Thanks guys, it wasn't that bad to buff, just treated it like any other finish ( least aggressive first). Rsurfer your right I missed that part of the article. I think I'll always have something to learn. This thing is really coming out nice. Will post pics when I'm done

I would use a Flex 3401
Menzerna 1500 with LC Orange pad check 4-6 passes
Menzerna 4000 or 4500 with a Black LC pad
follow with a good paste wax applied with a Lake Country Blue waxing pad

Check the 1936 Ford done last week on the bottom of the front page. The paint was brought back to a show shine and that is 50 year old paint. As with any job check as you go, use good technique and care.
