Buick Grand National One step polish.

Nice work.

I've detailed a few of these in my life, one back in the early 1990's and back then it was still considered a "new car".

We've also detailed a number of these in our classes here at Autogeek.

My own personal thoughts on these cars is you have to be careful. They have a LOT of long body panel edges and raised body lines. Generally speaking, black paint is the softest paint to buff on and buffing on the raised body lines or the panel edges is very risky. This is especially true for an original paint car when you don't know,

  1. Who has buffed it in the past.
  2. How many times it's been buffed in the past.
  3. What was used when it was buffed in the past.

It's completely possible the paint while visually intact when you look at it may be what I call whisper thin.

Nice restoration work and for anyone reading this into the future, be careful when buffing on raised body lines and edges. Corners too.
