I had a bumper repainted under warranty due to a factory defect. How long should I wait before polishing and applying an LSP?

This question has been addressed a million times on this forum, but that aside...

The best answer comes from the paint manufacturer.

The next best answer comes from the painter.

But I have to caveat those answers with "if you trust the painter". I've seen many painters that think they know more than the paint manufacturers and will give incorrect information in this regard. Also, many painters will apply more paint than recommended by the manufacturer and doing so will prolong the hardening process.

Personally, if there is any question, I'd wait 90 days for the LSP.

Polishing can be done at any time, but remember, the paint is not fully hardened early on so you can't get too aggressive. My personal preference would be to wait until you're ready to apply the LSP before polishing.

Sounds good. Better safe. I think the clear is water based. I do not know the manufacturer and didn't think to ask.

I've read 30 days. I know Zaino says there product is safe over fresh paint.
