hey AGO!
Kind of a newb to the forums
Ive done hours upon hours of research on here and have ordered mulitple products from here!
Ive been detailing cars for the past 8 years more of a part time passion
Well ive finally took the leap and got my own shop opened in August of this year.
Here are my postcards I hand out and flyer with

What do you guys think?
(we now offer more services so I will be updating them soon I.e. window tint, vinyl decals, pinstripes, and leather repair)

I would add your name and title to the card. This way the person calling knows who to ask for as we'll as providing a professional appearance to the business. John Smith
Owner.

By having your title on the card it will also show that you are interested in Serving the customer

Here are my standard business card size cards I ordered too

The setup is not bad, but you really need a call to action. Maybe your general base price for a detail, then upsell them when they make contact. They need to know at least what the ballpark for your service is, or some sort of special offer.

IMO it looks like you're in the business of selling wheels

With both of them.having wheels I kind of agree.
I didnt have much to choose from on vistaprint and I was tryin to stay away from the lambos and exotic cars.. And seems like everyone has that car siloette look...

Id like to have more of a "logo" but my marketing budget is low since im just starting out

If you don't have a website, you need one, and make sure to list it on your business cards and flyers.

Also, pay to have [email protected] rather than @gmail, it looks much more professional.

As of now I do not have a website except for a facebook site
I know a little bit about website building from when I was in college but ive gotten some pretty high quotes on having one built.

I did not even know you could pay more to have my email setup that way

I would rather write my name/number on a napkin then hand someone a Vista Print business card

Find a local printer you can exchange services with

I would love to have someone local to do it so I wouldn't have to spend time doingthem my self... But the only local place that isn't an hour away took 2 months to print me 100 fliers and they were misspelled and didn't even offer to fix it! It was all I could do on my own... I didn't just use the premade ones from them I changed everything but the image on em

This is why I choose to live in the inner city. It would drive me nuts if I had to drive an hour or more just to get somewhere

If you make a thread asking for help designing a card, I bet some of the members here would help you. Then you would only have to have them printed

whats wrong with a vista print card? its not like it says vista print on it. lots of choices, easy to edit, very inexpensive, and many other things like flyers and signs to match the cards. fast shipping. cards quality is nice now that they started making the thicker stock. maybe it depends on how many cards you hand out. for me, i go through about 500 a month so I cant be spending a lot on them. it doesnt make sense knowing that most of them are not going to be seen by my customers since i just lay them around all over town. plus their keychains, pens, and t shirts are cheap too if you add them to your order. definitely less than the printing shops around here.

I have a love/hate relationship with Vista Print. Im a pro graphics/web designer part time. I use vista print to print my business cards and other media I use....I used them to print my Wedding Invitations.

Omg. Part of my mistake was ordering them so close to the date. They came all bent, all of them. Called them up, got a replacement set but this time they all had a random line across that wasnt part of the design. Ticked me off

Point is they are descent for business cards and other small projects for the price, just dont expect perfection with them. Most of us detailers are already OCD to begin with.

thats sucks. but ive ordered many times for 1000's of cards and never had an issue. win some and lose some i guess.

Good work, huh? I encourage you to let PrintPlace.com do the printing for you. The good designs would only be wasted if the printing quality is subpar. I'm not necessarily implying that VP has bad printing quality. It's just I know PrintPlace has been delivering outputs of premium quality.
