I'm planning on starting a auto detailing business as said before. I also am thinking about starting a online store of some sort selling auto detailing products. How would I do that?

Best and safest way to do this is using a PayPal (business) account. I let my customers pay online as a courtesy. PayPal will charge you a percentage of course.

You would have a difficult time running an online business accepting only Pay Pal..you need the other two major credit cards.

I am setting up an online store as we speak. The store will be anchored by my own product line. Afterglow detailing chemicals. When the store launches in late Sept/early Oct it will just be a page added to my website as opposed to a full e commerce store. Once my sales increase I will get a true online store.

I could not find the right fit as far as being a distributor and I was not impressed with pricing as far as being a reseller. I decided to develop my own product line.

We use Waterhouse Research to show us which products to sell on eBay. I notice they have some auto parts recommendations which are making over 100% profit and with high volume.

In my opinion, the easiest way to sell products online is to open an Ebay store and accept Paypal. Most credit cards are accepted thru Paypal, and you could sell Worldwide on Ebay. --

:iagree:

I also believe ebay charges per listing as well but it may be different for a store.

PayPal charges 1.5% which is why it is important to only sell items with high profit margins

Sorry for the delay in reply. I had been only able to post from my smart phone but now I have internet lol. Well I thought about selling cleaning products. But I also am learning how to make logos and which I thought about making different things to sell. I like the ebay idea with paypal. Im starting my mobile car wash closer to spring when pollen season hits ;)

The Ebay store is $19.95 a month but if you pay by the year it's $15.95 a month. Ebay charges about 9% for a final value fee on sold transactions. There is no charge for listing an item, only if it sells -- Marc

You would have to have really good wholesale pricing to make an eBay store worthwhile. I mean you would be losing almost 12% right off the bat due to eBay and PayPal fees.

Would you be stocking all of these items or shipping them from your wholesaler? Inventory is another added expense.
