She was "upset" that I "lied" to her and kept secrets ... lies of omission, which (in her words) is almost as bad as straight up lying.
I can't seem to win.
Speaking of Busted...
Sometimes heavy-handed measures
must be taken:
Bob
My GF and I have been together nine years, both previously married and handle things the same way. Works out great.
..
My response?????
"Awesome! Congrats! Can't wait to see it!" And "oh crap it's black" LOL :buffing:
THIS, my friends, is how you marriage Im the MAN
The thing is Joe, and don't take this the wrong way, but if you air your laundry on a public forum expect to get feedback, either way.
*I* DID start this thread, so I deserve what I get. Good OR bad.
Don, Thank you for starting this thread. I myself am a very private person and don't share much. Even to my wife. She hates that.
and sometimes would think, This dude is really secure with himself
That's her biggest issue ... I don't "talk" to her. 27 years of being a cop makes you learn to keep your mouth shut and not say much ... except on an anonymous forum where know one really "knows" me and can't hurt me.
Wife happened to open credit card bill this month (usually I get home first and get mail), saw about $1500 in detailing purchases last month, rolled eyes and said "You sure you don't wanna at least charge people for supplies when you do their cars?" Nah...that wouldn't be very fun.
That said, had I seen $1500 worth of shoe purchases by her in the last month I might said something snarky like "Just how many feet do you have?" which we all know wouldn't have helped anything.
Eh, all money goes to joint account(s)...and gotta admit last month was a bit excessive...so many coatings to try.
Everyone is different though so whatever works for you is the right thing for you as long as you go to bed happy at the end of the day.
I think the purchases were listed in the budget under line item "Valid Impulse Curiosity". Is it bad that food was further down the list?True enough.
That said, am I wrong to hear that you spent $1500 on product, and you have the unmitigated audacity to go with the screen name BudgetPlan1??:laughing:

See...there is a, uh, 'Budget'...of sorts.
$1500 in personal detailing products...
$1500 in shoes...
3 kilobucks in one month on discretionary personal gratification, still cheaper and more productive than some alternatives....

Then screw it buy what you want.I am the sole source of income for the family and she does the bills.
Or... A week long Caribbean Cruise, working on your tan, repeated hangovers and riding a dolphin. (Most of those dolphins have RIDs and marring. Can you polish a Dolphin?)Yeah or a weeks vacation in the DR all expsenses paid at an upscale no kids allowed exclusive all inclusive resort. :dblthumb2:
Because its worth it.You know why divorce is so expensive?
And BudgetPlan ain't just a screen name...wife drives around with a constant reminder bolted to her car...not that it helps.True enough.
