Buying a used Makita?

When you guys do paint corrections do you just use a rotary? I thought if you have both you should finish with a DA.

Sometimes I only use a rotary..... with the right pads and technique it is possible to do a fine job with just a rotary. I do 80 % of the time finish wit a DA though.... I think more just to switch up tools lol, I get bored really fast doing the same process over and over and over.

Finishing with a rotary alone takes alot of practice. Like Anthony said, I think alot of people will do their first step with a rotary and finish the rest off with a DA.

Guys don't you think for those who start with a rotary can later on pick up DA quicker than someone who would start with DA and then try to pick up a rotary.

I use a Dewalt rotary and I been using it for the past 2-3 years. It is heavier than a DA. A lot of people get tired really quick with it. The only DA I have touch was a porter cable and I really liked it. Until I found AG I realize there were more DA as an option.

I have heard makita is lighter than a dewalt rotary as in better I am not sure about that. I personally think they are about the same. My dewalt goes up to 3K rpm i don't know about a makita.

Makitas go also up to 3k but the lowest rpm is 600rpm. I have used both and bought the makita, its alot smoother, quiter, and nicer!
