C63 Spring Clean Up - Picz

Hey Guys!

So to start off, I decide to go full ham on this detail! I was changing from my shredded winters to my summer and I wanted to really car for my girl!

Weather was forecasting 20 degrees and sun! I decided our long awaited spring was finally here (after 6 full months of snow)

So I started off with the summer rims!

Rims have around 600km on them, so not too much was called for.

IronX, TarX, W99 1:2, and Diablo 1:4

Popped over to HD and bought a mat to put the tires on to avoid scratching!

Bit of Grime

W99 on the tires is the best! Hands down!

Not too much from the IronX

Little lug brush is awesome!

Blow dry

Next up, polishing!

SI1500 on an Orange Pad via PE14

SV Autobahn to the rims (sorry about the shaky pic, shutter speed setting issue)

Little trick to getting a new looking tire, without getting a new tire.

Magic in a bottle.

Apply with old sponge and scrub with the sponge

Clean and amazing! No dressing yet!

Left side is cleaned, polished and dressed, right side was cleaned. Dressed with Migilore Bella lustra

Car up on jack stands

I sprayed 1Z W99 straight dilution all through the wheel wells and suspension, let it sit for 30 seconds, got my pressure washer and got dirty!

Storm showed up!

The trunk lid was giving me a hard time. I new from direct sun light there were light swirls (improper drying). But my brinkman would show them up, 2500 lumen LED workshop light wouldn't show them, or even the 3M sun gun... So I gambled and went for SI1500 on an orange pad via Rupes 15. Seemed to work....

Process was 4500/85RD for the panels on a green, then Vic Wax Lite Cleanser on a red pad. For stone chips I wet sanded the blogs down with 2000 and 3000 grit, then compound with FG400 on a wool pad via PE14 rotary.

Before wax

I use this little foam detail sticks to clean compound dust out of crevices and dirt between lights and body panels

For this detail I chose SV Mystery and applied it by hand massaging it into the paint (remember Im going full ham son)

Buffed off with the SV Micro Fluffy towel. Things are stupidly expensive, but amazing

Thanks a lot Mike! I was itching for over a month to do this but with our weather it was a bit of a gamble. The day after we got hit with a blizzard and 70mph winds. Almost proper though, if you see the front grill is busted on the bottom. Its very brittle plastic and when I got the car I accidentally put it into snow bank. The replacement part was only $45 but you have to take the bumper off to replace it. Still deciding what I will do.

One of my favs too! Loud and pops everywhere, but it really likes to slide around. When Top Gear was saying its an axe murder with headlights, they were joking. Damn tale loves to step out in corners. I have tracked it, and now the tracks are open a lot more will happen too! I may have a set of Hoosier A6s coming. Also she may be hitting the tune shop some more!

A true tutorial in properly preparing a C63 for a new season.....rops:

I have to admit I don;t know a lot about these cars but a close friend of mine has the 2 door version and it's done in a dull silver....... His new G-Wagon is done in a dull looking black.

I've offered to buff them out but he just shakes his head and laughs...:laughing:

Its actually not a halogen, it is an LED light from HD. About 2500 lumens. LEDs have their advantages and disadvantages. On light colours like silver and white, they are superior. For dark colours though they really struggle to show up the slight holograms and wax residue like a halogen does. I also prefer it because of the lack of heat.
