Cadillac XLR, how hard is the paint?

Awesome information, Mike, thanks! I am sure I have that Ceramiclear paint on my ML350. It cost $1500 extra and I thought it would be great but now after reading your articles I wonder. It is the most beautiful white I've ever seen but then again, it is brand new. I think I will by-pass the problems by keeping this paint in tip top shape and doing all I can to avoid problems such as the ones Shawn found. This is another reason why I am afraid of putting my Griot polisher on this car and maybe just doing everything by hand. I just bought the Griot thinking it would help but it is a powerful beast and I don't want it anywhere near this paint, especially after reading your articles. Thanks again for the great info.

Thats not TOO far from me :xyxthumbs:

Have you ever taken the free plant-tour? Pretty cool...IMO.
(With the upcoming model-change for 2014...
tour dates/times are becoming limited)

Bowling Green Assembly Plant

But...
-Tour guests are prohibited from the paint-kitchen areas. :(

Yet...
-You get to see why Corvette owners shouldn't be afraid of driving them in the rain! :D

:)
