Calling All Mathematicians

Pizza slices, 4 slices of cheese plus one slice of pepperoni equals one pizza.

If a gallon of a product will be
dilulted 4:1,
how many gallons will it render?

But what is the formula?
The formula is:
Solute (parts) + Solvent (parts) =
Total parts

{The addition of the parts of the
solute and the parts of solvent.}

Step 1:
Add the numbers of the two
sides of the ratio together.
{4:1...becomes...4 + 1 = 5gals.}

Bob

Easiest way?

4 + 1 = 5.

Just pretend in your head like your mixing the whole gallon from the get go... How much "stuff" would you use? Fours gallons of water + one gallon of product.
