My son in law asked me to detail his 2009 Camaro SS. He took it out of his garage last fall and parked it in his yard and it sat there till the other day and man did we have a bad winter here in PA. It was so swirled from him washing it incorrectly and when it was in the garage he took the cover off for some reason and cats would walk on it. Now bare in mind this car only has 1324 miles. Well I got it yesterday and worked on it for a short while and finished it today.
1. Foamed
2. Clayed
3. A few bad spots bird crap etc 3M #2 Orange LC 6.5 CCS Flex 3401
4. 3M Ultrafine Polish #3 purple bottle White LC 6.5 CCS Flex 3401
5. Topped with Pinnacle Souvran Paste.
6. Wipe down with CG V07.

Love it! You really gave that SS the love it needed. That is something to be proud of. I'm sure he was thrilled.

He definitely was then, especially if he priced reputable detailer to do the same work. You sir are a good father-in-law.

Very nice. Now make sure he takes care of it!

Wow! Saved the car and saved your in law a large amount of cash!

It's important now to instruct him how to take better care of it, to maintain the awesome finish you've left.

I'd suggest for you, when adding pictures,

(Just substitute the underline in I_G for a M, in order to write IMG inside the brackets)

[I_G]paste here image address[/I_G]

How this beautiful pic is looking now?

Congratulations on your work,

Thanks for sharing.

Great job! I really like the reflective shots that show your work the best. Why doesn't he drive the car? I baby my Mustang but still manage to put 4,000 miles on it yearly. Those cars are meant to be driven!

My daughter was just at my house and she said they put it back in the garage and put the cover on. All he does is work.He owns his own business installing fibre optic cable and is out of town on jobs all the time. He also had a black 2014 Chevy 3500 4 door Dulley that he wants me to detail. I already told my daughter that one's not free. It even has polished aluminum wheels. He drove that all winter to job sites so you know what it looks like.

Dont let him trick you by saying "Can you show me how this is done?" and as your showing technique he keeps saying "I don't get can you show me again?" Then all he ends up doing is the final wipe :xyxthumbs:

He doesn't know how to clean a car. I'm 60 years old and will smoke a lot of the young bucks around here doing detailing.

Was that the first year? All I know was he had the first black one in W. PA. They made him put down a 1000.00 deposit to order it. Did they think they were going to get stuck with a 2SS with a six speed?

Lucky son-in-law. Its the other way around with my father-in-law(great guy by the way) and my father. I get OCD when I see their cars. They think they look good till after I'm done and now they each invite me and the wife over once a week for dinner for some reason:dunno:. I actually don't mind my father is the reason I am who I am, and my father-in-law gave me his most precious only daughter and I am forever greatfull.

My wife wouldn't let me charge him so I told my daughter that they could make it up by getting me a Toronador Black for Father's Day. I hope they have a good sale just before that holiday. Hey Meghan hint.

Sounds like that would be a good trade.
