can clear coat be wiped on?!?!(opticoat can)

well guys sad news....i tried and failed^ yes lesson learned. but no biggie i had some run on the fender but removed it with some wax. i let the clear dry over night and sanded again and applied the spar urethane to it. i had a mini hear attack when i saw it wasnt working.
