Can DUB Wheel Cleaner be used exactly like Iron X?

I know these 2 products work in similar fashion, but I'm curious to know if anyone's tried both products on paint, and whether the DUB is completely safe, and also how were the results in comparison to Iron X.
 
If you search you'll find that it's been talked about before. If I remember correctly there wasn't very much color change with the Dub.
 
The relevant safety data shows that dub isn't as strong. So you can use it in a similar way but you may well have to use more to achieve the same results.
 
Cool, because I just bought some. I kind of like the fact that it's a shade milder, that makes me even less cautious to try it:)

Tip for DUB Wheel Cleaner:

Wait until IronX Paste goes on sale or BOGO and get some. When I transfer the DUB cleaner to my Kwazar bottle I put in 1 - 1.5oz of the IronX Paste in first.

Obviously makes the DUB stronger and it also makes it thicker and it will cling much better.

I bought 30 bottles of DUB the last time it was $5 at Advanced Auto and have been adding the IronX Paste to each one. I figure that I am still getting each bottle for about $6 and have improved the product.

I think this combo is close to Sonax FE Plus in strength as far as iron removal and has improved on the shortcomings of the DUB cleaner being too runny and not clinging long enough.
 
Hmm.. I tried the DUB when it 1st came out, not sure if I recall it being extra runny, but I could see how that might be a small issue with it, especially on vertical panels.

Quik questions: So 1st wash the vehicle, next dry [in order to help prevent any further running of the product]
What's the good advice as far as removing the stuff from the vehicle? Simply rinse off? Or go over it gently with a wash mitt, then rinse? Is it cool to spray the whole car? Or just 1 panel at a time?
Is it safe to go straight to clay after just rinsing it off? Or is it advised to do a quik wash prior to claying?
These are my noob questions. TIA.
 
I decided to try the DUB on 1 the front wheel of the Kia..

I've been maintaining this vehicle since it was brand new so it's very clean at all times. This is what it looked like after 5 min. I'm glad this wheel cleaner didn't fake the funk and automatically turn red just because.. It pretty much stayed green after 5min, I guess that means I've been doing a good job.😉

It could have ceramic brake pads which won't turn purple that much.

Not at all. You would have to research on whether or not the Kia comes with them or not. Ceramic pads create less dust than a semi-metallic pad. Different materials in the make up of the pads.

I just checked the owners manual + warranty and consumer manual, it doesn't mention what kind of brakes they are.
 
Ha, yeah it should be fine. I've intensionaly let Dub dry on my farm truck with no ill affects.

Are you getting any color change out of it?

Yea. You can see a little in the 2nd pic. Not a crazy amount, but I could tell it was working. I only did the hood and trunklid since this is just quik AIO job.
