Can I correct with drill?

I am thinking about getting 12V Right Angle Drill
to run 2", 3" pads.

I used 18V drill for headlights mainly,
and wondered if I could use 12V right angle drill to correct tight spots.
(aka poorman's Ibrid Nano loll)

couple drills Im looking at, has max RPM 800 and 1200.

and my guess is that as long as it can spin pads..... it should correct... no?

It can, but can be grabby/tippy, being a rotary take caution, especially on soft bumper paint.
 
Can you? Probably... Would you really want to with amount of tools and proper fitting accessories (backing plates / pads / etc...) on the market?

Me personally, I would just get the correct tool required for the job.
Big Picture Detailing = Boss G15/21 / Rupes Bigfoot 15/21, Flex 3401, GG6, 7424xp... etc..
Up Close Detailing = Rupes iBird Nano, GG3, Fex PE 8.
 
wish I could justify buying ibrid nano
but as weekender its too much.

I have rupes 21es, PC and GG3.
but recently ran into 2nd gen mazda 3 and hatchback has, about 1-3", tapered section around back window
which was PIA.

The proper tools always make doing the job easier, safer, and usually better.
 
I've done good correction with the Megs DA Power System on a 20v DeWalt drill. It CAN correct.

I've also tried using a Milwaukee M12 right angle drill with smaller pad (1") - I think it spins at 800 RPM. So far, my testing has shown it CANNOT correct as well as the former set up. Could it do some light polishing? Maybe. Haven't tried it. Works well as a 3" wax spreader though :)

milwaukee M12 is one of I was looking, but will pass.

I actually just ordered used dewalt with 1,2,3" pads with extender so I will stick with that I guess.
 
Of course it can be done, sort of like a mini rotary.
Only problem is it will take a lot of time and as one said it can be hard do handle it, wants to walk on you.

Not everyone has DA's.
