I'm replacing the brake calipers on my '98 Cobra, and have an opportunity to coat them before mounting them. I would like to coat them to simplify cleaning going forward.

My questions are: can I coat them with DP paint coating? I also have the wheel coating - would this work better? What is the prep process - the same as with the car's paint?

As always, thanks for your feedback and advice.

+1 on the high heat being a problem. Maybe try a test spot first.

So no one has coated their calipers?

I'll give it a try tonight - I'll was with Dawn, use the DP Paint Prep, and then try the DP wheel coating, since it was engineered for higher temps. I'll post an update once completed.

I was gonna do this on my calipers when I get a chance to do the wheels just to experiment. I would suspect the enormous amount of heat would just bake it off though.

I applied DP wheel coating to my calipers using a brush to ensure full coverage. I'll post pictures tomorrow, however, will offer that it only added a little sheen to the finish. That was not the end goal, and will monitor the effectiveness of the coating over time.
