Can quick wax be used as a quick detailing spray?

Just wondering if I could use a product like Meguiars quick wax like a detail spray after a wash? I find it gives me some of the same results as a quick detail product and I figured it gave a little protection.

On a clean surface I have been enjoying some good results with Pinnacle Liquid Souverän Spray Wax as a clean car detailer. Easy on and easy off with a soft microfiber cloth and great looks.

The way I see it, spray waxes should be used on a clean surface; eg. after a wash.

So if it's clean, then go for it! If not, stick to a QD.

I agree.

The above is actually a very common questions because there's a lot of confusion over the differences between a spray detailer and a spray wax. I addressed this at least once, if not twice on the second season of our TV show because I was provided twins of these products to show and because I know there's a lot of confusion, thus I pointed the confusion out and the accurate answer.

There are some spray on waxes actually designed to be used on a freshly washed and waxed car too...

Remember Wax-as-U-dry?

I find that too often, when you spray a spray-on wax onto a wet car, it causes the surface tension to break and the standing water will run down the car into cracks and crevices you cannot get to and take the wax product with it.

Personally, I would remove the majority of the water first. Then stick with a premium quality spray detailer or spray-on wax.
