Can this be corrected?

Just wetsand the area and take a wool pad and cut and then polish.... should be able to remove 75-80% of all the defects... Remember when wetsanding, do not just wetsand the scratches or you will create a "valley" in the clearcoat. It is kind of like blending in paint per say.... so you will need to wet sand the whole area.

:iagree:about removing a lot of defects by wetsanding and then polishing. I've corrected scratches and rock chips by wetsanding and never had to wetsand the whole panel. I did shoot 3 coats of clear over the repaired area if that matters.

Ahh. Got it. Which leads me to ask another question. I recently read that my paint code 202 is a single stage paint. I know...single stage in this day and age? Do I need to treat it differently than a bc/cc?

No, treat it like any paint, that is,

"Use the least aggressive product to get the job done"


You'll see pigment coming off on your applicator pads, buffing pads and wiping cloths but it won't hurt anything.

Def. Although I did not mean to wetsand the whole panel, but rather the "area" instead of directly on the scratches cause I have seen other people's work as opposed to mine who did this. But as everyone says... ALWAYS take the less aggressive approach and work your way until your satisfied.
