Can you clay your exhaust?

Im wondering what the best way to clean my chrome exhaust is? Not sure if you can clay chrome?

Absolutely! Clay works quite well at getting the stubborn, stuck-on debris that isn't easily removed with cleaners.

And you shouldn't. I have dirty paint clay which is now relegated to windows and wheels.

Steel wool works great, but it does leave tiny iron particles embedded in finish. I would always follow a steel wool application with clay, then polish.

I very rarely have to grab the steelwool. usually I just use an old MF towel and some good metal polish and they clean right up. I have used clay in the past before a polish to remove stuborn particles or tar or dirt.
