Nope, many but not all. How exciting, just 2 1/2 more weeks!

What a collection. :props:

I’ll have a go . . .

Makita - PO5000C & your famous (9237CB I think is the code still) Rotary.

RUPES - Long neck iBrid, Short neck iBrid, LHR75 Mini, LHR12E Duetto, & I think it’s a LHR21 Bigfoot, 75mm Pneumatic Bigfoot & a 1955 RUPES Rotary.

Dewalt - 849X Rotary.

Flex - PE8 Rotary, XFE715, PE14 Rotary, 3401VRG, XFE7-12 3”, XFE715 Cordless, PE14 Cordless Rotary.

Griots Garage - Pneumatic Rotary polisher, 3” orbital polisher.

Porter Cable - DA Polisher.

Meguiars - MT300.

Cyclo - Duel Head Cyclo DA Polisher.

And - Unknown to me but I think it’s a Black & Decker Wax Spreader.

Nice work,

I believe the Black and Decker you referred to in the center is a Chamberlin ”Polishmaster”
Chamberlin is known in the US more for their overhead garage door openers, than polishers.

BTW Aaryn there is no way I would have gotten the names of some of those polishers. I only could name the obvious ones. That old Rupes rotary, no way.

duh....I'm too shallow to know!

Are you supposed to know polishers for IDA certification?

Yeah exciting - I'm creating power points and it's incredibly tedious.

Forgetaboutit! I failed!...LOL

That's funny....

I keep that polisher around for all the guys that after learning how to remove swirls using a modern polisher like we sell here at Autogeek, and then they say,

"Well I don't have one of these modern polishers but I have this old Chamberlain, (or something like it), can't I use it?"

And then I answer...

"no"

It's now powerful enough to remove swirls i.e. remove paint out of most modern clearcoats. It's action is also too slow. About all they are good for now days is to spread out a layer of wax on paint that is already in great condition. See my article here,

The Traditional Orbital Buffer aka The Wax Spreader

Aaryn is actually the guy that was so kind as to send me the vintage RUPES polisher...

No Tom. I don't know how other guys make their power point presentations but I use pictures, it gives the audience something on the wall to look at besides me. As each picture comes up in a slide I then share what its' all about.

Marketing yourself with good before and after pictures by Mike Phillips

In the process of creating some new power point presentations and updating others, I'm taking pictures for my presentation on toosl, past, present and future. And all work and no play is kind of boring so before I left work yesterday I took the pictures you see in the first post of this thread and shared it on,

  1. This forum
  2. My FB page
  3. My Instagram page

Interesting feedback on all social media touch points.

Did Aaryn get them all?

Inquiring minds want to know:)

I believe he did. I'll have to print this out and check when I go out to take the next tool picture for my Power Point.

:)

Aaryn did have a slight advantage considering he owned/possessed 1/23 of the collection:)

I doubt many people outside of Italy or the Rupes business could have identified that Rupes rotary. That is a monster of a polisher. Makes my arms tired just thinking about having to wield that beast.

Very cool that Aaryn donated the polisher to Mike:)

Haha, yup - I did cheat a little. :buffing:

I did try to simply send the Vintage RUPES to Mike but as I suspected & Mike being the type of guy he is, I received a parcel in return. A very very generous parcel at that, & if I can catch up with Mike at Detail Fest I most certainly owe him a beer or three. :dblthumb2:

The Vintage RUPES polisher is a real sweet machine. I had it running before it made the 8000+ mile journey to Mike & it runs strong & as smooth as silk. I'm pleased Mike took it in & gave it a fitting home. :props:
