So I gave this cancoat coating a go for a third time. This time I tried applying on the hood of a grey BMW , I polished the hoof, prep with eraser . I put some music on , got my microfiber towel , I had the car inside the garage , temperature was roughly 28 degrees C. I sprayed cancoat lightly on my microfiber towel and applied it on a small section of the hood, evenly pushing the product, grabbed a second towel to remove excess and I had a third plush towel to push more excess coating.
It took me a while but I finally went over the whole hood , applying the same method. Inside the garage the car look mint, no dark spots . I took the car outside , looked at it and i can see darker spots on some parts of the hood, tried to rub it off with a microfiber towel but the product wouldnt move. Parked the car inside again and I went over those spots with a little more product . I took the car outside again and it was much much better but still there 3 or 4 minor spots. Its hard to tell , you have to look from a different angle . Anyways I had to repeat this routine 4 times and I think I finally got it perfect on the hood.
Not going to lie , the car looks good , but this product is such a pain in the butt to apply. I think its the instant bond that makes it difficult . I did not have any issues applying GYEON pure true ceramic coating, the product was very very forgiven , even when I found a high spots , it was very easy to fix.
Maybe I have to use less product, which I thought I was, i did 2 sprays on my microfiber towel. But still its such a horrible product to work with , I much rather use car pro lite , its not as slick but it is very forgiven for correcting high spots and it spreads nicely
Anyways , needless to say , I m not using this product anymore. If anyone here lives in toronto , I ll give you the product for free . It ll probably end up in the garbage anyways. I ll much rather use gyeon pure or car pro lite than cancoat.
