Well first, I am new here, and have learned alot from you guys. Well i got my brothers car and was going to polish and clean it up for him. I have a udm, orange pads, white ect. Washed and clayed the car, then on to polishing. By the way the car is a 2004 i think, Pontiac Sunfire Red. Has a lot of swirls, paint is in very good cond. Gets washed often. So i tryed OP with white pad, nothing then OP orange pad nothing, All the way up to OHC and orange pad thought this would for sure at least take out some of swirls. Note: tryed diff speeds ect. I could not even make a dent in the swirls, I am so ticked, One reason i dont understand this is i have a 2006 dodge that someone rubbed up against in a parkinglot with there bumper down the side of drivers door. it was about 2 feet long and at one end actually took paint off down to bare metal, I fixed this with OC and an orange pad, looks new now! So why cant i even put a dent in these swirls on this pontiac. this car is farely new so i now the swirls are not under the clear. If OHC and orange pad wont touch it will a yellow pad make that much of a diff. sorry about the rant. thanks guys, I know someone here will figure it out.

When you say different speeds, you should be using speed 6 for correction. Make sure you're working the polish in fully.

Shake the polish well, only use four pea size drops on pad per area, and use some downward pressure. These combined with what RJones said you should be good to go. Please let us know if you have success with this plan.

slowwwww passes...slowwww.....that car prob doesnt have the best clear...so you might need yellow pad

First go get a bathroom scale or borrow someones. Push down untill it reads 10lbs. The PC does not effectively orbit at any higher pressures.

Spread your compound at 2-3 and then turn it to 5. Go glowly up-down, then a slow pass side to side, then diagonally side to side in a 2ft area.

that could probably be the issue

if u had a rotary i know for sure u could fix that up in a few passes

i had the same situation on my parents SLK ...even with menzerna i still couldnt shake the microscratches..rotary to the rescue and it was a done deal

but ya def try slowing it down, break down the polish, let it get some heat..yellow pad would be ur next test, but the oranges are fairly aggrsssive aswell
