Can't figure it...

Has you're truck been in the shop lately, or had any work done and they gave you a complementary swirl job?

The only thing I can think of is that my wash mitt/sponge is too contaminated.

You didn't tell us exactly what correction products you used. IME swirls don't come back that easily or quickly. Maybe some marring here and there - but not actual swirls.

I have seen with my own 2 eyes swirls "polished away" magically reappear. The thing is, they were never leveled to begin with - just filled with a "product". I didn't believe it, until I saw it. I'm not talking about a glaze or a polish that is supposed to have a glaze component either.

I did mention them in my long response to the many questions.

One thing to mention also, when washing with sponge or otherwise, I do not use a circular motion.

Did you do a wipe down? Most people just spray on IPA mixture and wipe off. The goal is to let it sit for 10-15 minutes. This removes any silicone, oil, or residue. Wipe your IPA off and inspect.

Whatever you are using to touch the surface is contaminated. I'd upgrade your MIT microfiber towels.
