Can't pass my baggy test

2017 white rav 4 my daughter car. I have nano skinned the car and clayed
polished with d166 on rupes yello and microfiber pad.

It it is getting better last year I iron X it didn't get to much red so I thought I would skip.
It was sealed with sonax pns for the winter beading was still good.

just wanted to remove some snow broom marks she put on it and d166 is doing the trick.
i am starting to think d166 is the cause of those little bumps or really dots you feel with the baggy test
so I tried to wash them off no luck.

I wouldn't go so far as to say D166 is the cause but I will state that on Toyota and Lexus I've not had good luck with D166 as it tends to cause micro-marring. May not be noticeable on white but I've posted about this before as have others.

In terms of what's causing the bumps or texture you're feeling, is it all over the vehicle? Over spray of some sort from something? Light overspray would normally come off with Clay though but it's the only thing I could thing of.

My advice is to test out a single panel with another polish. Any polish. HD Speed and Sonax Paint Cleaner are both excellent go-to AIO's that I like.

That Blue 3M clay isn’t all that great, especially if it’s up against heavy contamination. If I were in your spot I’d grab myself some OTC Meguiars clay and from the sounds of it expect for it to take a good 3-4 times of going over the same sections [meaning having to nead and re clay 3-4 times] until the clay comes up clean. Then and only then will it be completely clean and also pass the baggie test.
