Hey guys every time i detail some ones car i try to start early morning like 6 am to try to avoid the sun as much as possible. sometimes its not possible. Just want to know if anyone uses some type of canopy that is worth buying but dont want to spend a grand.
If so can u send the link where they sell it or any info would be great. thanks

My buddy has a mobile glass business and used one until the wind got ahold of it one day, and drug it across a brand new car at the dealership he was working at. If you get one, anchor it well.

Overstock.com

Look for the Quik Shade canopies.

They actually start @ $159+

Quik Shade Weekender Elite Instant Canopy (12' x 12')

Weekender Elite

I set these up myself and it literally takes 7 minutes not including attaching the weights.

I've got a 10x10 canopy I think it's an EZ Up (not sure) and it's a bit of a struggle for 2 people, but, definitely takes 2. I'd love one that I could setup and take down by myself. My HOA would never let me leave it up, which I understand, but no way is it a one person operation. I cannot imagine how one person could set any of these up.

I'm guessing your canopy must be a steel frame then? These aluminum frame canopies are very easy to setup and tear down.

Absolutely.
Best money you'll ever spend and the easiest way to stay out of the sun.

I like the looks of the canopy material on that Quick Shade, TFTA. I've been thinking of getting one too and somewhere between $100-$200. I was thinking of McGyvering some anchors with some canvas bags i have filled with sand and velcro'ed to the anchor posts. I'm scared of the wind taking one on a little scratch excursion!

I know what you mean.
These sand bags can be filled with sand or water. They have three velcro attachments on each bag and I have them weighing around 10lbs per. I've been out with some decent wind gusts and admit I was a little nervous, but I think I've got my faith in them.

I have some disc weights as well just to be safe.

Perfect! And good to hear you have some faith in the weight keeping them situated. That was one of the biggest reasons i haven't pulled the trigger yet. Plus, lately we have been under CONSTANT rain. I could see a canopy being beneficial in varying weather conditions.

Thanks, TFTA...good experience share!

Anytime.

While I'm saving my pennies for a top-of-the-line Eurmax Pro 10x20 canopy, I've been considering getting two 10x10 Ventura canopies from the local Wally for $88 (Canadian, each). They seem quite well made, and even come with one side wall, perfect for early and late season days when the sun is still strong but never gets too high.

I can set up my 10x10 EZup by myself and it isn't too tough. I also created weights out of 1gal buckets filled with quick-set concrete. Just before the concrete sets, stick a big eye bolt in the center. Once cured, you attach a bungee to the eye then up under the frame. It won't move in even the stiffest winds. Been racing under this setup for years.
