Hey guys every time i detail some ones car i try to start early morning like 6 am to try to avoid the sun as much as possible. sometimes its not possible. Just want to know if anyone uses some type of canopy that is worth buying but dont want to spend a grand.
If so can u send the link where they sell it or any info would be great. thanks

I do not have one but I hear Big 5 sporting goods is a place to check

Dave

I use a 10 x 10 ez up wish it was bigger through.

I got a ez up commercial grade 10x10 for around 400 . Purchased it for selling detail products and amsoil
Im sure itll work for detailing, but something longer may work better

Fet the weigh plates that go on the bottom of the poles
Can drive tires on it or bring some weights so the canopy doesnt fly way in wind and potentially mess up a surrounding car

Ontop of the 4 weigh Plates mine also came with walls, but have yet to use the walls..prhps when i bother to buy an a/c cooler chest I will lol

EZ UP Vista 12x12

Don't get less than 12x12.

Got it for $162 total direct from EZ UP including shipping. Comes with 3yr warranty.

Not a great pic, but I use two 12'x12' canopies most of the time.

Just tall enough to get a stock full sized 4x4 underneath.

The canopies go up in all of 5 minutes and the cost is $168 per. Roller carrying bag included. I purchased the sand bag weights separately.

I'd love to see an unedited video of setting one of these up by yourself in 5 minutes. I have an EZ Up an it takes two people 10-15 minutes. No way can one person set one of these up and it's a 10x10.

You are going it incorrectly

Should be able to set it up and finish a 12oz Beer in 15 minutes

Be careful of who you want to challenge. I never lie and love to prove other people wrong. :dblthumb2:

And there's no way you could possibly be going about the set up the proper way.

Here's a video of a 10'x10' canopy being setup by one person. This isn't the same brand canopy I have, but there is absolutely nothing different about the set up process.

You're welcome. :xyxthumbs:

You took that wrong. It was not a challenge at all. I just wanted to see it done. I'm not sure of the material of which mine is made, but, it's no where nearly as simple as the one in the hurried up video. I'm guessing it's not aluminum because it's just way too heavy to be picked up the way the guy in the video did it.

So, please, prove me wrong.... IF that's the way you wish to take it. I'll be looking forward to your unedited video. Thanks :dblthumb2:

Go to about 30 seconds in on this one. Most videos are of two people, but there are plenty out there with one person doing the work.

They're all about the same (providing yours isn't steel). ;)

The video I posted is the same as the video in the above post.
If I were to video the setup I would be mimicking the guy in the video.
Guess I took it wrong then.

Mine is way more like this one. Notice there are 2 (two) guys helping with this. It would be extremely difficult albeit not impossible for one guy to do it.......... but, at 67 y/o and all sorts of aches and pains and physical limitations, I don't wish to try it.
I found another one that shows one guy setting up a canopy, notice all he has to go through, plus all the "extra" clamps he's using.. plus this video is in "fast" mode also, just like the original one you posted. So, we both have found videos to prove our point, which was NEVER my intention, but, let's not cherry pick just to prove a point. It's a little too childish for my tastes. BUT, wanted to show the additional video and the difficulty he had, plus his canopy is way lighter than mine. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fq-15TYZdNE

enjoy!

What's the difference between a rich man and a poor man?
The rich man has a canopy over his bed, the poor man has a can o' pee under his bed. :buffing:

Peace,

Darrin

Excuse me egos aside where can a HUMBLE man purchase one of the above mentioned canopy's?

12x12 ez-up is $119 prime on Amazon. Seems pretty hard to beat

just bought a 12 X 12 straight leg Ozark trail for $98.00. had really high marks and couldn't pass it up. now just have to wait a couple months and give it a whirl :)

I use 2 12x12 easy up canopies from Tractor Supply Company. 5 minutes each at the most to set up. Cheap.

I also have 2 hoop style AutoShelter brand shelters that I set up when I am going to be at a fixed location for a period of time. $399

It is also from TSC. Depending on where I set them up and the conditions, I have stakes, concrete blocks, concrete anchors with stainless steel cable, and 35 gallon barrels to fill with water for anchors.
