Ugh, definitely geared towards the "non car enthusiasts".

Just watched a KIA commercial and when they showed the Stinger all they said about it was it had “blind-spot detection"...
thats it?
A great car and all they said was it had blind spot detection...

That's all 99.9% of the morons out there want.

God forbid they would have to keep track of what is in front of them AND behind them.

I hate the recent Toyota Corolla commercial where the car enthusiastically goes through a tunnel of horrors car wash. I have to change the channel when it comes on. I think it just recently went off the air since I haven’t seen it lately. Thank God!

Nothing like getting behind the wheel of a new car with Road Departure Mitigation and Lane Keeping Assist turned on. The first time it starts to steer on its own, you're like ... ### is going on here ?

Gotta have a safe guard for those that find answering a text WAY more important than actually hurling a two ton piece of steel, metal, and glass down the road amongst others while paying attention......

I remember that one.

Right before they bastardized Bob Segar's "Like a Rock" for the next 20 years.

(With royalties, of course) but nonetheless......

Since defensive driving doesn't always work against the texters, maybe one of these would ?

Wish I had that ride instead of this one when a 21 year old hit me at 60mph while texting as traffic was stopped for a school bus.

For me the Chevy "Real People" adds are nauseating. The comments the people make are as if they have never sat in a car before and have no idea of what is on sale today. I rarely watch live TV anymore, but when I do I change the channel the minute those ridiculous adds come on. If I was in the market to buy a vehicle right now I could see avoiding Chevy all together because I hate those commercials so much.

I find all the emphasis on the driving aids pretty sad as well because they are simply dumbing down the driving population and making them more dangerous on the road, not safer. They would be great if people used them to enhance their awareness and skill, but human nature is to use them as a crutch and your skills atrophy. The automakers also don't happen to mention how many false positives some of these systems like automatic braking have which are an entirerly different set of problems on the road.

The worst for me right now is the commercials where a few people are sitting outside and a car drives by (maybe a Prius?) and the one says, "oh I like that". Then a Jeep drives by and same person says "I like that style"...
A 3rd person chimes in to ask if they are car shopping. It's for a car finder app.

This person looking at cars driving by obviously has no idea what any of them are or what they want

•IMO:
-Even though Chevy’s “Real People” commercials
contained at least one sorta bright-spot:

-I sure am glad they finally pulled
those condescending commercials
from my viewing area!

•And I don’t really mind watching Chevy's
current “switch logos” commercial.
-Not for the vehicle’s, per se.
-For Science, ya know. Yea, that’s the ticket.

the auto body repair commercials are funny though. at least this one is...

Dodge is head and shoulders above the rest in terms of commercials lately. They have a lot of cool cars to back it up too.

Definitely a good one... and good song too :coolgleam:

Ahhh...
A refreshing look-back to when
vehicles took the simpler path:
