I washed and dryed at this morning and got there just in time for registration with products in tow to finish up on site. :) Basically just tires, wheels, and engine had to be finished up.

It was a very hot day for a car show and I will say I've been cooked and my head hurts. But it was a good time and for a good cause. Without further ado... some pictures.

I have comments above certain pictures

Of course Skybaby is first!

This is the brother of the Saturn Sky (Well maybe older second cousin from europe) but whatever
The current Opel GT not at the show is brother to the Saturn Sky and Pontiac Solstice. All 3 are Kappa platform. Opel ended up not being shut down last year after all and will continue. This gentleman restored this one and just purchased another for 200$ to restore as well.

This very nice woman who owns this beauty saw me take an interest in her ride and asked me if I'd consider a trade for my Sky :) Not so sure she was joking either... She was a big fan of the Sky and bummed they aren't making anymore.

Love the corvette. Had a motorcycle repainted in the GM Seafoam Green color...with white walls. Very retro. That car is absolutely gorgeous. Looked fun.

Never been to a car show... are most of these cars weekend drivers or car show only vehicles? Is there a category for daily drivers or vehicles w/ xxx miles on them.

A couple of the cars looked like they had spider webbing through the pictures. Is this normal? I remember a thread a couple of days ago saying how the poster was amazed at the number of cars not "finished" off.

Nice pics. And I would have traded for the conti :)

Cracking up over the Gator 34 Ford running over the Cane. Very funny.

It varies, at this particular show I would say it was about 65% weekend drive cars 30% show cars. Of course my Sky enjoys going to the office with me during the week when we know the landscapers aren't coming and there is no chance of rain. I suspect there were a few others like me. And it looked like there was about 5% daily drivers.

I haven't been to a lot of shows myself but from what I've seen the categories vary quite a bit from show to show. Sometimes you have shows that you can't enter unless your car is from that period or that style. In this particular show there were different year categories. I don't remember the exact years but things like XX-1930, 1931-1940, 1941-1950, etc. My category was 1976-present. Then there were Best In Show, Best Interior, Best Paint, etc

Absolutely, the majority have some swirls. I would say most of them at this show were pretty good allthough almost all of them had some very faint swilrs that you found if you looked for them with the sun. I have a few closeups I can post since you are asking. The only 2 cars that did not have swirls were my Sky and the Burgundy metalic Vette.

Edit: I just looked through and I can't beleive it doesn't look like I have any pictures of the vette I mention here... Sorry

And I would have traded for the conti :)
I won't tell Sky you said that... She wouldn't approve :bat: And I can promise you the drive in Sky might change your mind :)

I can see where you might get a kick out of that. I was entertained as well. He even had a cd or tape in his radio playing through all the best plays in Gator history. :D

Hey Corey, way cool! Thanks for sharing this thread, I found it very enjoyable. I must say Sky Baby is looking beautiful as always. However you may want to consider some Armorall tire stuff next time (I hear judges really like it a lot):D

Thanks Tad! Glad you liked the pics. Armorall? Did you happen to be a judge at the show? Thanks for the advice:) Seriously though I guess more people like glossy tires. Am I to sell out and do as they wish at car shows? I'm not sure Sky would approve. She doesn't like too much bling on her feet either!

I found a 'Stang for you and got a few pics. The 1959 Blue 'Vette that is right there with the 'Stang pictures (at the end of all the pictures) was probably my favorite car of the whole show. This guy was the original owner. Drove it into the ground untill it was a junker. Then he rebuilt the entire thing. He had a binder with pictures of every step.

Nice picture love the SKY. You can make those fairly quick my buddy has one with Chip and DP and ran 13.2 on stock tire with a crappy 2.4 60'

Did you win a trophy?

Nice pictures Corey, thanks for sharing, what show were you at? And I am glad you opted not to bling out the Skys tires with silicone dressing!:xyxthumbs:

Thank you, I'm fairly partial to her myself :)

You can make those fairly quick.
Yes, I've read a lot about that but am hesitant to mess with her due to the warranty and my lack of knowledge. Mine is stock RL and does 0-60 in about 5.3.

Did you win a trophy?
Sorry, no trophy. The lead judge won first place in my class though. :xyxthumbs:

Nice pictures Corey, thanks for sharing
Thank you Meghan!

It was local in east orlando. Called 1st annual "Cars on a Mission"
