my wife and I got married in St. Lucia

Stayed at Le Sport and they took care of everything. Just had to sign some papers when we got there and then 4 days later, show up for the ceremony. Got married in a hawaiian shirt and shorts on the beach...

International airport is at the top of the island and the resort is at the bottom though so either take a connecting flight to the smaller airport or be prepared for a 2 hour jaunt over some pretty hilly terrain.

We took a helicopter back to the airport when leaving cause we didn't want to do the 2 hour trip again...

Now THATS what I call a wedding!!! Destination weddings are definitely cheaper than having it local. Unfortunately my parents were banking on selling their business prior to the wedding. Now that that deal fell through they asked us to change the venue. They didn't want to close for 4-5 days (lot of money lost in an already bad ecconomy). Her mother asked us to change it as well, since she takes care of a mentally and physically disabled person.

....and they say its our wedding. HUMPF! Let's just say I wasn't willing to deal with the consequences had we continued on with plans.
