Caring for modern single stage paint

Hey everyone. I've been reading about single stage paint care until I'm blue in the face. I'm looking for some guidance on single stage paint care. I recently purchased a white 2009 Toyota Tacoma with the factory single stage paint. The hood and roof have some oxidation, and I've got a professional detailer that is going to polish it this week to restore the factory shine. I have always applied wax or polish by hand, and I had planned on using Meguiars Ultimate Paste Wax (big fan with its ease of use) every two months to help prevent any future oxidation, but the detailer recommended Optimum GPS every three months. Any opinions on which product to use in my situation? The pickup will be garaged, but it will be outside at work 3 days a week due to my 24 hour shift schedule at work. I'm not looking to make my DD truck perfect, but I'd like to prevent any future oxidation without too much hassle. Thanks in advance for any advice.

I am currently using Megs Ultimate liquid Wax, and Ultimate Quik Wax as a booster. It's cheap, available everywhere, and looks and works great. But even though I am happy with the Megs, I have Cquartz UK waiting in the wings, just because I want to try it. You might want to try something new as well, just because it's fun. I personally don't think it matters which you choose, as long as, to paraphrase Mike Phillips, you enjoy using it and use it often.

Thanks for the reply. Long term wise how risky is it to use a product similar to Optimum GPS that is a mild abrasive? I would probably use the product every three months, and I'd apply it by hand.

I really think you would be best to do a coating. Gtechniq c1 and exo would be good. This gives you a good clear coating to help from it oxidizing again and it will last. The problem with wax and sealants is they can't fill all the pores like a multiple coat coating.
