While I was there I had asked them when I could seal the paint. He said 30 days but to not worry too much. He said the they coated the fresh paint with carnauba wax because the carnauba allows the paint to outgas. I had never heard of thus before today. What says ye?

Don

Wait, he told you to wait 30 days.. But he also said he's already waxed the car?
What?

why such a drastic color change ??? Wash weekly for 30days then use whatever you want but handle with care.

The paint does need to gas out as the painter said. I'm not sure if a carnauba wax will allow this or not. Lets hope it does being he already put a coat on.

he must have been using that krazy wax that changes car color with 1 coat...your car transformed from black paint to grey

I would give a good wash. I never heard that before. I have heard of shops using glazes to hide imperfections.

^^^ I'm with this guy lol

If the paint was baked, you shouldn't have much to worry about but I'd wait the 30 before sealing/waxing.

Carnauba products will NOT allow fresh paint to properly gas out and can cause what is called "solvent pop," in which the gases are trapped just below the surface and cause small bubbles to form. It would look as if the clear were like carbonated soda in places. Doesn't happen too often but if it does there is nothing short of sanding down past the bubbles and respraying to correct the defects.
