Carnuba Paste Wax: Who Still Uses It?

We're going to use the paste version of M26 tomorrow night. This wax has been around for 30+ years...

^^^...M26...^^^ :props:

I also see no reason to disagree with George:

Hunter, I really like how the BFMS aerosol works, spray onto your pad and apply thinnly and it comes off very easy but a little tip, I apply it to the entire car and then remove it but you've gotta apply it thin.

Buy a can and you'll be glad you did!

Its all I use, Meg's 16, 26, Gold Class Carnauba Plus, Turtle Wax Platinum Ultra Gloss Liquid.

Long Live Carnauba, Garaged helps

Ever get curious to try an an AutoGeek wax? Or are you just happy with what your using? Some of the PBMG waxes are really good.

I like paste waxes usually over a sealant.

I am currently using BF Midnight Sun on my DD and Mothers Step 3 paste on my Dakota.

I love using sealants, I love the protection and slickness of BFWD, Wolfgang etc....However, to me, there is no more fun than hand applying a nice nuba. I applied Chemical Guys 50/50 a bunch recently and theres nothing more fun....i dont know maybe I am weird, but hand waxing is kinda fun!

Not to mention therapeutic! I was thinking of Opti Coat, but that would take some of the 'fun' away. LOL

:iagree:

One of my fav wax is 26. I have never tried 16 tho. I know they do not make anymore

i have to dido the therapy part. There is nothing like taking a mental pic of before and after or real pic, with a nuba paste. It has and will be in my arsonal for a long long time. I use over 845 and the look on a black car/suv/truck is amazing! That is why I have a couple in my bag!

Dido?
the singer?

Did you mean Ditto?

Urban Dictionary: ditto

Using a nuba can be rather relaxing.

:iagree: It calms my OCDness...

But the dust side has always annoyed me: I am waiting for some Fuzion - let's see if it is better in this "department".

I am also thinking about Opti Coat: Opti Seal is nice on the wheels (German cars = headache) but I am sure Opti Coat will be nicer!

I use them still. Still much more fun to apply paste and go old school and let it dry, then to apply a sealent which takes alot less work.

I haven't used a paste wax in nearly a year. Ever since my first purchase of UPGP, I'm on my second 12 ounce bottle of it. It's just so easy and so efficient for the business of correcting and protecting cars. I have a lotta lotta paste wax and don't intend on getting rid of any of it. I enjoy applying a paste wax but I just haven't had enough time to play with my own vehicles like I used to. I kind of miss the days of applying Natty's Red twice a month.

I may use some paste wax on the Royal Enfield three wheeled pedal bike that I am restoring for a customer.

I used some 476S just now on My Mom's 2010 Toyota Yaris. it looks as nice as a brand new one! Nothing wrong with paste waxes.

Kind of a good point. It seems like Most detailers detailing for money aren't using as much carnuba, but people are still using them for their own personal vehicles. I was just wondering, because one of the companies who makes sealants kind of implied carnuba paste waxes are dead and there is no market for them. So, I thought maybe I was the only on still using them.

I still think nothing beats the looks and ease of use of carnuba or a hybrid paste wax. The carnuba look seems to be the look all the sealants and coatings are trying to achieve, so why not just stick with the original for your personal car?

I still use carnaubas on my fun cars as I prefer the "wet, shimmering" look rather than the plastic look of sealants. I do use sealants on my daily drivers since they get used in all weather. If I lived in an area with a more corrosive climate or environment I'd use sealants on everything.

For me I use Griot's Carnauba Wax Stick topped with Best of Show but I'm replacing that with Griot's new Premium Carnauba Wax and I also use Souveran on one car on a base coat of Carnauba Wax Stick. For a sealant I use Griot's Paint Sealant.

It works for me.

I use Collinite 915 paste wax over 2 coats of collinite 845
