As an amateur detailer I could use some help with interior carpet and seat cleaning.
I tried to use a corded drill with a yellow chemical guys drill brush on my Scions passenger seat and it seemed to ruin the fibers in a way and made the seat feel harder, so I am trying to avoid that in my wife's new car and any car I work on in the future. I have to admit, it turned me off from interior work for awhile.
How do you guys tackle seats and carpet? When I say carpet I really mean the stuff under the floor mats. I know some cars carpet, like Audi, can be really delicate and so I want a way that I can do it without ruining the pile by making it stiff or look worn. Same with the seats. Did I just use too much pressure on the drill brush, or should I have picked a softer brush?
I do not have an extractor or a steam machine, I am a weekend warrior detailer, so any help would be appreciated. I do however wanna detail other cars one day, so if you wanna throw in those suggestions or steps feel free to do so!
Thanks so much!
