Carpet cleaning tips

I have had great results by spraying with APC and scrubbing the stain and let it work about 5 minutes. I then use my $50 "Little Green Machine" with a mixture of the hottest water I can get out of my sink along with some concentrated carpet solution. The little green machine does a great job of extracting all I put in. I let the car run with the heat on and the windows cracked for about an hour and most of the car is dry.

I'm NOT a professional, I'm a weekend detailer that does it to relax!

Apc, rotary/da with mf or wool pad to agitate, extract then wipe down with mf towel

It's my experience that an extractor is superior to cleaning cloth than a good steamer. Buy another Bissell; they are cheaper than a good steamer anyways. Pre-treating, then aggitating, followed by cleansing waters is like magic.

I highly disagree with this... but most of you guys don't see the interiors I see every day.

But back to the question: For stains use Folex or a good degreaser. If you can't get them out with that you'll need carpet paint.

Maybe you can post some pictures of these interiors Ryan? Ill go check your website :xyxthumbs:

Id be interested cause I have worked on some pretty bad ones. I think an extractor is a great tool and something to strive to get but I still don't think when someone is just starting out they need to go get one. In my experience dry time after an extractor alone will turn some customers off. Unless you have a couple air movers that will help speed it up.

I do not use an extractor at all I use only steam to clean my interiors

@Evan.J On that perticular carpet^ I'm assuming you used the triangle attachment w/terry towel wrapped around the head of the steamer and agitated? Did you spray a cleaner on the carpet prior to scrubbing with the steamer? If so, which cleaner?

Also remember they are called stains for a reason.
Sometimes, there is no chance of stain removal, even with every tool, machine, product, and technique applied.
