carpet cleaning?

I've started using SG and love it. They now have a lemon scented APC which is new. Got it yesterday. Strong stuff.

The new lemon is nasty IMO! I like the old smell better...hopefully they don't rid of it, because I only have a big bottle of the new stuff.

I tried misting it with warm water, but that just seems to activate the soap and make it even harder to get out. I need to try using less.

Is there anything youd recommend using instead of OTC carpet cleaner?

Hey Justin, what dilution ratio do you use for SG? I've been using Meg's Super Degreaser and APC+ on carpets, but always open to try new things.

Has anyone tried the DuraGloss Orange APC?

Thanks,

Looks like DP Total Interior Cleaner might be the ticket. "DP Total Interior Cleaner requires no rinsing because its water base allows it to dry without altering the texture of carpet, leather, or fabric."

How about keeping your mat covered in plastic? That is what this sicko does. Sure does cut back on the work with a tan interior!!
And I have a two seater, so no passengers. I mean not with the price of those Lloyd's mats!!
Think I have a serious problem?
I do similar things with every new car I get...it started with my first at 21.
You could have eaten off my floors!!! Literally. (But I would not have permitted food in the car!)

Haha, I dont let people eat in my car either. But Im talking about for customer cars.

If you think that is anal....I do NOT let anyone including myself eat or drink in my Tacoma other than water. I cut industrial matts down to size and put on top of my existing carpet just to keep it clean if I ever were to sell my truck! :p

I got some DP Total Interior Cleaner coming Thursday. Ill post here after I use it.

Don't know if it's been said, but I just skimmed the posts.

I plan on buying the Rigid 4 gal? and 5 HP wet vac, either that one or the toolbox looking one.

I plan on vacuuming the carpets first. Then spray the entire carpet area with APC+ at 10:1. Will either use a OXO scrub brush, Mother's scrub brush, or if necessary get the carpet cleaning brush attachments that go on the PC.
Then with any tough stains will use Folex (works GREAT.)
Topped all this with a nice oder remover, probably DG's, but still have to try it.

Thats pretty much what Im going to do/ have been doing. Except Im using DP interior cleaner instead. Vaccum first, spray on DP, use brush with PC, then dry with wet vac.

For the carpet matts I use the hose and go all out. I get as much water out as I can with the wet vac, then they dry in the sun within a couple min. This gets all the dirt out.

Yep, the only reason I'm using APC is cuz I can also use it to clean dashboards, seats, vinyl. Just more cost effective for me.

Yeah, Im using DP to clean everything too. Then 303 to protect and 4* for leather conditioner.

The one that I use is "Simple Green Max". Big bold letters, then under them it says "Automotive cleaner and degreaser" in smaller letters.

this will help TOOOOOONS. i did it and my floors were spotless. Just spray carpets with simple green, and scrub with a brush, or use cyclone's PC scrubber, and then steam clean. all i said after i did that was "Holy ****"

What do you use to steam clean the carpet?

Bringing this thread back.

Ive been using DP interior cleaner for mats, but would like to use something like Woolite or Folex and save the DP for everything else. What do you guys dilute the Woolite and Folex to? My plan is to hit the mats with either one of those, scrub with my PC brush, then hit it with the pressure washer.

As far as the DP total interior cleaner goes. This stuff is awesome! I spray it on the carpets, hit it with the PC and brush and it gets the stains out and dries right up without leaving the carpet feeling funny.

I like hitting the matts with a preasure washer I do it at the local coin opp becasue i do not own one
