Carpet dye for cloth fender liners?

So....been looking for a way to freshen up these cloth fender liners that so many cars/trucks come with these days. I was watching a video where a detailer was using an aerosol dye to bring some pretty stained carpets back to life.....and I got to thinking....I wonder if that could be used on these liners to bring them back to black again?

Interesting thought. I imagine you could. Don't know how durable it is, but heck, give it a shot!

Just watch for overspray, but it wouldn’t hurt to try.

I have been tossing around the idea of using a fabric coating or scotch guard type product on them. Honestly I just keep forgetting, it’s been busy lately.
