carpro hydro2 LITE: streaks and spots everytime

TBH, it seems these type of products are a crap shoot. One guy gets great results from Permanon - I've used it quite a bit & for me it doesn't last... OPs technique seems perfect to me - he gets streaks. Another guy never had streaks from H light. Someone else doesn't get streaks from H light - only H. Some say Dawn could be the problem... Then someone else says others have used Dawn with no problem... Another guy used the product and had no problems - until the LAST 2 times - then problems...

Who knows?

I dunno. Too complicated & results are too unpredictable for me to use on paint.

I've only ever had that problem once and it was on a White F150, I used it in the sun and I missed a spot or two and it dried up. It was easily removed with a towel.

I'm a big fan or Hydro2 but in my honest opinion Permanon Platinum spray sealant is so much better than Hydro2.

You dilute it with deionized water and spray it over the car with a mister bottle. Just wipe and you're done. It's also a si02 sealant, and it's also made in Germany.

It's my all time favorite sealant, and then I use Hydro2 foam to maintenance the Permanon Sealant.

If the Permanon is so good, why do you need Hydro 2 Foam to maintain?

Your application is ok, i just would change the shampoo , Dawn uses surfactants to protect your hand skin
these could be interfere if not rinsed well from the surface.
if you see any streak dots, best tip is to spray some Hydro lite on mf and wipe on over the streaks
it will remove the streaks , then wipe off with the dry side , surface will be coated and cleaned .

I have seen mixed ways to apply here products as well. Spray on wet wash off and immediately dry that panel immediately. That sounds ok but there’s going to be a lot of wiping and a lot of extra work which this product is designed to reduce. I’ve also seen after washing the car to spray the entire car with the product then rinse the entire car the wipe or blow dry. What is the true way to apply it? I’ve been washing the car while wet spray product then spray off immediately thrn move to the next panel and repeat until car is coated then I wipe and blow dry with the master blaster. What is the best way? Thanks for the help.

I had a gummy sticky blotchy effect using hydro blue, Nick said I used too much.

Apply less.

that's why I stopped using hydro2. Way too finicky. I use Mckees now

Also considering replacing the OEM spray nozzle (came with hydro2 lite) with something mists better and finer, maybe that helps to prevent overspray.

If you change to a finer mist, you will get more overspray. You need to find a happy medium. I find the sprayer from Car Pro works great.

Temps are now very high , make sure you apply in cooler environment temps
if its impossible add another 20% water to your Hydro Lite to reduce flash time in such hot temp.

I thought Hydro Lite was activated with water, so wouldn't diluting it before application affect it's behavior?

No. Hydro2lite is just diluted Hydro2. I think some streaking is due to the high amount of SIO2. Ive never had a problem with Hydro2lite, but I have had problems getting the dilution right for Hydro2.

So, no need to dilute Hydro2Lite?

I have had Hydro2 as high as 1:3. No streaks, spots, or any abnormally. I have noticed a 1:5 ratio seems to last a lot longer than 1:6, however longevity does not get better higher than 1:5.

But we're talking about Hydro2 Lite. You dilute Lite?

I used it as a quick detailer as its says can be used as on car pro website. No streaks looks great.
