CarPro has announced a new product, Trix, which is supposed to combine the properties of Iron-X and Tar-X in one product - would be very useful if it maintains the effectiveness of the two. (On a side note, it was rather interesting to see three companies - CarPro was the third - announce similar tar-iron removal products in the span of a week over on Detailing World :).) I wonder when AG will stock this?

Also, it was previously announced that Iron-X now has a new, stronger cherry scent - has anyone gotten their hands on this yet? :D

Thanks Alex! Nope, haven't gotten my hands on it yet but heard all about it. Very excited about this one!

Silly rabbit! Trix is for detailers lol

Sounds very interesting, but I worry the pricing will be very high like some other CP products. Hoping for the best though.

Which ones Davey? I'm thinking Tar X is cheaper than the dodo product that appears to be similar.

kinda jackin the op here but how much different is Iron X vs Wolfs Decon gel? That price is VERY attractive for the Wolfs. Dave I see its back up on DD btw.

I believe the Wolf's is thicker than regular IX but not as thick as IX gel. CP IX is more concentrated than Wolf's.

gotcha! I think the one thing about Iron X that has me nervous is the disclaimer not to use on chrome, bare metal parts, etc. I know some "chrome trim" isn't real chrome but chrome plastic. Would it effect those parts?

Iron X vs. Wolfs Decon Gel, Eraser is just expensive, but it does work well so I still bite the bullet and buy it, Tar X vs. Tarminator. Not saying it's an issue, just one of the reasons I don't buy many CP products. I don't feel that all of them are worth the inflated price. Just my .02

IMO the differences are no big deal. The Wolfs stuff clings better, and you can let it dry on any surface with no ill effects. It does seem like it take s a little longer to work, but nothing insane, like 10 minutes vs. 5 minutes with ironx. The end results are the same IMO. I Use wolfs only now that I've used up the last of my iron x.

I use the same amount of wolfs as I did with IronX I just let it sit on the paint longer.

I don't know this for a fact, but that bothered me as well. Wolfs I've sprayed on anything and everything, and it's been fine. I've even let it bake on in the sun for 30 minutes and there were no issuse. Couple the safety with the lower price, it's a big winner in my book.

Are you talking about Tarmalade or there Supernatural Glue and Tar Remover? I like DJ products but was disappointed with Tarmalade. The Glue Remover is much better

I appreciate the reply Dave...I will continue on as planned per our discussion about Wolfs earlier. Sounds like an excellent product, especially for the price. I'm glad we had that talk.

No problem man, glad I could help! :dblthumb2:

Also I want to say I'm by no means bashing Iron X or other CP products. It is just my personal choice to not buy them, and buy something that fits my needs better. I don't think that any of the CP products don't do what they claim. Just wanted to make that clear.

There was cherry in the old version. Must have been masked by the smell of rotten eggs

I think they've amped the cherry in this new version - so you smell both of rotten eggs and cherry at the same time!

I really wish that AG would pick up Wolf's, and some of the other UK/European brands (such as Bilt Hamber). There are areas where their products seem to be a bit more developed than in the US - clay is the obvious one, another is snow-foam/pre-wash cleaners, and they have around five or six alternatives for iron removal.

If you read the previous post you will see that I said Eraser is the only product from them that I use. I think it's over priced, but it works so well that I pay for it.

Thanks for clearing-up my confusion.

I personally haven't purchased the Eraser product...But I've been known to use it.

In the QA Avi wrote it says it works fine on chrome. See post number 2 here http://www.autogeekonline.net/forum/product-reviews/42651-review-carpro-iron-x.html

Not Tarmalade, the yellow one that came out after Tar X and is in a bottle and description sounds similar but cost a few bucks more.

I think you forgot you like Fixer Davey :). Certainly you don't consider that pricey compared to some polishes you use. :dblthumb2:

All in all I personally think the majority of products we enthusiasts purchase are overpriced from almost every brand.
