Cars from way down south!

A couple more pictures. Not sure if you guys in the States get the Mazda BT-50 trucks???

And another Holden SS ute, this one made me extremely jealous of you guys that have lifts in your shops or garages!!!

Thanks for looking.

Ahh the good old HSV's and FPV's. I miss them roaring down my street when I lived in Melbourne for 2 years. Sweet rides indeed!

The Aussie's love for V8's is just ... amazing.

Keep those Ute pics coming! I just love seeing them, but it's also torture! I've got a fondness for El Caminos, having owned an '87 since 1993. We were supposed to have a Pontiac version in 2010, called the G8 Sport Truck, but the Fed's frowning on "niche" vehicles during the bankruptcy hearings of 2008 sent that idea as well as all of Pontiac, to the grave.

Yep, I was saving my pennies, waiting for Pontiac to roll out their model.

That they do my friend, the fan base is rather large further south here in NZ too. Thanks for the comments.

Awh geeze, I never even knew that. These types of utes are extremely popular here & in Australia. I'm guessing if something along the same lines were to be built over there it would sell well, El Caminos & Rancheros did didn't they? Thanks for chipping in Bill.

Gutted. What did you buy instead?

I bought a Ford Explorer Sport Trac (mid-sized pickup). Pretty neat vehicle, in its own right.

Funny how you do all these cars more often than not & never take any pictures, then when you get the camera out, start a post about them & they don't show up! :awman: I managed to snap a couple of this HSV Clubsport (2008 ish) 6.0 LS2.

Thanks for checking in.

That Holden is like a panoramic canvas for photos:) Look at the length of that uninterrupted body panel. That car does look like a back breaker. Jack stands and a floor jack is a good cost 1/6th of the way height wise to a dedicated lift:)

I wonder why Chevy doesn't re style the front end of that Holden and sell it as an limited/special edition (2500-5000 units) El Camino. Instant classic and you're aren't stealing customers from other GM brands/cars. Guys would pay stupid money just because it is limited.

Thanks for all the great unseen cars, utes, trucks. I was in Europe as a 16 year old. I looked at all the cars from Vauxhaul, Ford, and others. I thought that GM and Ford needed to bring those cars to the US. I really like Ford's global designs.

Cool ride, Aaryn!!! Nice work, too!! :)

Thank you Paul. :xyxthumbs:

Thank you Sir. :xyxthumbs:

I too often wondered why Cheverolet didn't do exactly that. I mean, the early El Camino was a good seller wasn't it? Fords Ranchero? For a tiny country way down in the South Pacific we sure have plenty of these on our roads. This being said though, its almost all finished - Holden will end production of all Australian produced vehicles in 2017. I believe Australian produced Fords have already ceased. Thanks for the comments.
