The last month or so I have been looking at the customer base here. And it seems like more folks want a basic wash wax and vacuum then a full on detail.

Which I can do that and as well as offer full on detailing as my skills grow.

I just dont under stand why more people want the basic more then the full on detail. Has anyone here ran across that? Do yall have more people wanting the basic more then the full detail?

It's really simple:

A) you're targeting the wrong audience
B) you're targeting the right audience but you can't sale
C) people know but they don't care
D) people simply don't care

Your point is to make money, right?

Strategize on how to cater to that audience while maximizing profits.

All in all, there are so many factors why you're not getting the full details or the ideal customers you'd like

The staight forward advice is go to where people are already looking for your services

Aka forums, car clubs, etc..

How much hands on, not youtube, experience do you have measured in years ?

Where have you worked, and who can be called on for references ?

Do you have an easy to maneuver website listing everything you do, including pictures, testimonals and pricing ?

Are you working out of your garage, shop, mobile, or what ?

Elaborate on your experience, without going into huge detail, what have you done, what do you use, where are you based, how long has this been full time, strong points, etc...

My Clients want perfect, custom, Detail work on their expensive German, Italian, and British vehicles, and they always got it..
It took a few years to get there and I used some great contacts at a premier German car repair shop to help me contact their Clients and after I proved myself to them, I never had a day off again. I could work all year long if I wanted..

So, tell us about you ! :)
